LSU Baseball :)

I decided to go back and read some old blogs tonight. I'm glad I did. Last year... about this same time I posted a blog that was titled Goodbye LSU Baseball :(... In that blog, I made the statement that LSU would not only go back to the CWS, but they would win it all. WEll.... LSU has in fact gone back to the CWS and the Fightin' Tigers are on their way to winning it all!!! I have fallen in love with the sport and the team more this year, than I was last year. LSU has a few seniors this year but they also have a lot of freshman :) hopefully that means we will have a good team for the upcoming years, as well! LSU won their regional and super- regional this year to land them a seat in Omaha- Tiger Town :) In the super- regional, they beat Rice for the first time ever... they have beaten Rice at the CWS and at other events but have NEVER beat them in regional or super- regional play. It was excited to see! LSU's first CWS game was against Virginia and after pitching issues, we claimed the victory. The second and third games were against Arkansas --- all I can say is Geaux-rilla ball is back!! We definitely fried some bacon..... TWICE!

On Monday, LSU will enter into the championship series against the Texas Longhorns. I would like to see LSU win the first game with no problems... then I would like to see LSU pitch a no-hitter on Tuesday's game! I think that would be pretty awesome!

In other news, it's been awhile since I have updated. I applied for a job in Natchez, but was turned down. After all of the chaos I went through just to get an interview, I have decided that I probably do not want to work there anyway. On Monday, I will visit Woodville and see what is going on there. This job business is a lot more stressful than I ever imagined. Since the last post, I have graduated, moved home, received my diploma, applied for and received my license to teach and began working at Parkway as the Children's Events Coordinator. We have a lot of stuff planned for the summer that I am super excited about!! Now I just have to get people to sign up to attend and work - that will be my challenge!!

Well that's about all that is going on in my life.

Dinner Tonight!

I decided I needed a stress relief so I cooked dinner. For some reason I have been craving Chicken Cordon Bleu. I found all of the things I needed so I cooked it! I think I have wanted to cook it for so long because you get to beat the chicken until it's thin. It was soooo yummy! I hammered out the chicken until it was pretty thin. Then I seasoned it and laid some shaved ham and some swiss cheese in the middle. After that, you roll it up and tooth pick. Usually I just bake it like that but I decided I wanted a crust. The only type of crackers I had were melba toast, so I used that! It was pretty good! Along with the chicken cordon bleu, I made Claire's Mac N Cheese. It's extremely good! Every one should try it!! For desert is fruit pizza :)

10 more school days left :)

I never seem to have time to update this.
Student teaching is winding down :) I only have 14 more days in the classroom, 1 seminar, 1 EID, and 1 wrap- up day!! Then it's graduation! I am pretty excited! I can remember being a freshman thinking this would NEVER come and here it is!! Graduation is going to be May 2nd at 2 p.m.

I made time to update this today because my apartment is in DESPERATE need of cleaning and I am suppose to be packing to move... so of course the first thing I did was see what I could do online to procrastinate!

Well that's all for now. I do not have anything to talk about because graduation is the only thing on the brain!

Time for a brief update!

This semester has completely flown by!! Not to say that I haven't been busier than ever, because I definitely have! The last few weeks have been overwhelming with my first placement coming to a close, assessment portfolios, a birthday and then starting a new placement. Last week was my last week in sixth grade and I miss is sooooooo soooooo much. I never thought I would say that, but I seriously do. I had to go cry in the bathroom Tuesday when I saw my sixth graders and realized they were no longer mine. I love my third grade class, but it's hard to get used to new kids after so long. I think I will like third grade, but nothing will compare to that sixth grade class! Well enough about that!

Spring Break is less than 20 hours away :) I have an interview with a principal over the break but that will be after I get back from a much needed beach trip!!!! :) Graduation is 49 days away and I will say I have the worst case of senioritis EVER!

Geaux Tigers - hopefully we'll be seeing them in the final four then the championship game and then we can call them National Champs :)

I passed the Praxis 2!!! I found out this morning I could call and pay extra to find my scores out today. So I did. Best $30 I ever spent :)

Now I have to focus on finishing the semester.

the weekends keep FLYING past :/

That would not be such a bad thing if the weeks were passing equally as fast. This week I am teaching Reading and Language Arts. I am kind of nervous about teaching from 8- 12... It's the longest I will have ever taught. Tonight I am doing the usual.. heading to the library to print everything for the week and drinking a mountain dew. I was able to get a lot accomplished today, but I didn't go to church. I had to go to Meridian yesterday for a wedding so I decided to stay here this morning and do some stuff at the apartment-like wash clothes since I had NO clean pants. This week is going to be pretty busy, but I guess I better get used to that. I need to practice time management since the days do not appear to be getting any longer. I just need about 3 more hours in the afternoon.. but oh well. Well that's just an update.

It's COLD!

It is freezing today! and tomorrow is supposed to be even colder :/ I am cooking gumbo for dinner tonight! I have been wanting it for a while! I am also cooking peach cobbler.

This week seems to be passing by sooooo slowly. Next week is probably going to fly by since I will actually be teaching. It get quite boring observing all day. I observed the third grade class today that I will have at the end of the semester. They are so cute and so sweet... or at least they were today!

Now it's back to life and lesson plans :)

It's over!

At least for now! Or hopefully for good! I will get my scores back in four weeks. I do not feel good about it, but I do not feel bad either. It was hard... that's basically it. Now I have to move on to student teaching!

Back to School

- for the last time, as a student... well kind of. I am actually not even considered a student, rather a Teacher Candidate. I'm excited for this semester to come and go, but not too excited for the break to already be over. I will be student teaching this semester at East Oktibbeha Elementary school. I will have sixth grade and third grade. I got my first choices on both placements, so I was extremely thrilled! This Saturday is kind of make or break for me. I have to take the Praxis 2. I am pretty nervous. I have to pass it to get my certificate to teach. On Monday, I went to the Wilkinson County School District office to turn in my resume and ended up filling out my application and having an interview. It was my first real post- college interview. I think it went really well. The superintendent asked me several questions about why I want to teach and why I chose Wilkinson County. He said he could not hire me now, obviously, but after I got my praxis scores to him and my certificate number then he would say I was pretty much a shew in. Wilkinson County is my first choice so I hope I pass this test Saturday so I can breath easy until May 1st.
