prayer request and a few other things!

I'm hoping the phrase "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" has some truth to it. It's only Monday and I am just praying I live to see Friday. This week is the monster of all monsters.

Geaux Tigers!! - btw, college football was AWESOME this weekend!! I love upsets (except when LSU is upset, of course!)

Please be in prayer for my mother. Last Thursday, my grandmother (moms mom) was put in the hospital for congestive heart failure, and was not given good news. The doctors talked to her about quality of life and where to go from here. She has major blockage in her neck, that is going to cause a stroke. She needs surgery, but isn't strong enough to make it through surgery. My mom spent Saturday calling the family, to let everyone know what is going on. She could not get in touch with one of her brothers, so her other brother said he would let him know if he found him. Early Sunday morning, my uncle called to let my mom know that he found their brother and he was dead. He died Saturday night/ Sunday morning of a heart attack. My grandmother checked herself out of the hospital yesterday to go home and be with his kids.

Thanks.

LSU and an unsafe apartment!

Since LSU plays State tomorrow, this week has been interesting!! Of course, I have sported my LSU items to class everday!! Let's just say I did not make many friends :) My window at my apartment shares the LSU love, as well. It has not made many friends this week either.... This morning when I went to get in my car, I noticed there was a sign on my windshield. The sign said "Geaux to hell LSU" in a nice shade of purple. This was after I sat on my stairs all night scared to death, because someone kept coming and knocking on my windows. After seeing the sign, I think that is what it had to do with. Which is ok, because the LSU stuff is staying put!!

Normally, I would have run outside when someone was knocking on my window to see who it was, but not this week. Sometime last Saturday, someone stole three bikes from my back porch. My porch is gated in and the bikes were chained to the fence, so the robber had to open the gate and look around to see that they were chained to the fence. Then they had to go get something to cut the chains, so these were not just people who happen to notice three bikes and grab them. That has had be scared all week. Then Thursday morning, I noticed the door was open a little bit at the apartment next to me. No one lives there, so the door should be shut and locked. The people that live on the other side of the apartment said someone broke the lock and went in. Besides the fact that whoever broke into that apartment broke the lock, which is the same lock on my door, the person who broke in had to have watched that apartment for a while to know that no one lives there. I just figured out last week that no one lives there and I walk past it everyday. I'm scared they know that only girls live here and that most of the time I am here by myself. After the bikes were stolen, I went and talked to the lady at our management company and she called the security guard to watch our little section closely. I have yet to see him, so I am not sure how good he is doing his job!

Well this week at school is going to be the craziest, hardest week of the entire semester!!!! Hopefully, I will survive!!

LSU vs. State Saturday at 7:30 on ESPN, now I'm off to watch the debate!

Since I bought a new computer and iPod before school started, I have had to keep myself on a very tight budget. My budget restricts me from going to dirt cheap, and I was doing so well. That is until this past week. there is something about going to dirt cheap that chills me out. So needless to say, I went to dirt cheap this week, not once, but twice. I got some good stuff though, including Windell's Halloween costume- Optimus Prime (transformer).

This week has been the most stressful week thus far of the semester. I know it is just going to keep getting more and more stressful, but this week was a doozy. We had a test everyday, along with lesson plan units due everyday. My schedule this week has looked like this.. wake up at 5:30, go to school and print off powerpoints for the day and do last minute cramming, go to class, change classes, go to the library from 12- 6, come home and cook dinner, finish and upload assignments to taskstream, study until 12 or later, sleep for the little bit of the day that is left, wake up and do it all over again. The first few weeks, I survived by taking naps, but as you can see from my daily schedule- there has been no time for naps.... That is, until today... After class, my partner and I finished our unit that is due Monday and I came straight home around 1 and slept until 5. It was much needed!

So MSU didn't exactly gets their butts kicked by Auburn last week.. but I would not exactly say they did good. The game score was 3-2 and Auburn won... Technically, State did not score any points, but you have to know a little about football to understand how we ended the game with 2 points. State's offense STINKS! Auburn was just handing them the ball on a silver platter and they could not do a thing with it. They would not have got 2 points if it wasn't for defense. Needless to say, I do not have too much hope for State this year unless they play someone with a really bad defense and an offense that State's defense can handle....

On the other hand, LSU kicked some tail! They killed N. Texas, as expected. This week they play Auburn, first their first SEC game of the year. Hopefully we will kick their tails, as well!

Well, I have the apartment to myself this weekend, so hopefully I will catch up on sleep and cleaning!! Hopefully, I can find Jonezetta's new CD somewhere in Starkville. It came out Tuesday, but I haven't had time to go buy it!

I am a college student

This past week, the senior education majors received our applications to student teach, I mean our application for the teacher internship. During this meeting, we basically we were basically told that it did not matter how much money we paid MSU, we were no longer college students attending MSU, we are teacher candidates applying for a job everywhere we go. I have no problem grasping the concept that we are applying for a job everywhere we go, especially since the principal of the school I am currently at will be writing us a letter of recommendation. However, I do have a small problem understanding the part about not being a college student. I like to think as long as I am paying tuition, I am a college student.

Last week I made a menu for the next month and went grocery shopping for the whole month. Of course, there will be some things that we have to go get later, but for the most part we have everything we will need! We have established Thursday night as homemade pizza night! I have been making just a plain pizza dough, but this past week I used Claire's wheat pizza dough. (I tried to link that, but if it does not work, click on Claire on the side of my blog) Usually we just make cheese pizza, but I made chicken pizza for me and Jess and a small cheese pizza for Spenser.

Sunday I going to attempt to make a roast.. I never tried this so hopefully it comes out! Wednesday is fettucini alfredo!

Last  night I got brave and made praline- cheesecake homemade icecream! It is SOOO good!

I did not go see Gavin last night :( I fell asleep... but it was much needed sleep. I just wish I could have falled asleep earlier in the day so I could have made it to go see Gavin.

LSU plays N. Texas today ..... GEAUX TIGERSS

State plays Auburn - they may get their butts kicked!!!

LONG LONG week...

Since Gustav blew through Woodville, I housed two evacuees, my brother and my grandmother. Let's just stick to saying it was a LONG week! Mom came up yesterday to collect them (at least until Ike decides what he wants to do). While she was here she bought us groceries and took me shopping for some more "teacher clothes." Therefore, it was a good ending to a long week!

Since Joey mentioned it, I will discuss last weeks game...
The weekend overall was wonderful- I mean, it was opening weekend of college football :))
LSU whooped up on Appalation State after having to have the game moved up to breakfast time. Then it came time for the Ms State game... I joked all week with my die hard Ms State friends telling them how funny it would be if State lost to La Tech, but seriously did not think they were that bad. If you watched the game, I am sure you could figure out early on that it was really a race to see who could play the worst, and State went home with the crown. They just got their butts kicked. It was slightly, scratch that, it was down right embarrassing!! As soon as I left the stadium, I sent a text to all of my State friends saying, "this is why LSU picked State for homecoming." The one time I attempt to support the school I go to, they loose to La Tech.. oh well, I had no emotional attachment to this lose!

This is for Joey too- so he better read this! I went to Oxford yesterday (it was extremely hard for me), to see Julie and Kevin say I do.... When I got there Andrew Cole said "I'm glad your here, I need some LSU around me!!!" Then he mentioned later, "Even the stinkin flowers in this town are red and blue." He was crackin me up!

Sometime this week I am going to post the pictures I took at the wedding!

I'm ready for this weekend! LSU vs. N. Texas and MSU vs. Auburn (we may really loose this one). This week is also Bulldog Bash - last year Jonezetta was there and they were awesome. This year Gavin DeGraw will be and I hope he is equally awesome!

Well I need to change laundry out and go to bed... I have to keep up with my sleep so the little first graders I have this semester do not get the best of me!!
